Do You Twitter? For Fun? Work? Share your Twitter name & more

For those who don't Tweet and wonder what Twitter is here's a short video.

Although this Beckenham Town website has 202 members (so far) its Twitter following at http://www.Twitter.com/Beckenham has 432 followers and growing every day.

I have Twittered with other accounts for over 3 years, both for business and personal use and actually prefer it to Facebook.

I'm constantly amazed at how its use and applications are improved and changed each month. I'll try and share as many of these as poss over the coming months. You'd be amazed at what's out there.

So if you Twitter, who are you, what's your profile @... and why do you tweet?

Add your replies below and let's follow each other.

5 year Beckenham resident - like John find it's a good mix of work and personal use and probably is, on a day to day basis, better mileage than a Facebook account (if not a replacement),

Have been known to tweet about local issues @isynge

I started tweeting only recently and I think I mentioned the Beckenham Concert Band in one of my tweets and got a follow from @Beckenham, which is how I found my way here.

I haven't really figured out Twitter yet. I seem to be using it as a status message and must sit down and find out how to send replies so that they appear on my followers' Home streams, which I think is what they're supposed to do...

You can find my tweets at @HelenEdithUK

Hi Helen, there are so many Twitter uses and special apps made for it you'd be surprised - here's a link to discussion on All The Best Twitter Apps out there, which I try and keep adding to for people in the ad business. Suffice to say it's amazing what people think or next to put Twitters 140 characters use to.

When you include the @ sign infront of a twitterers name it appears not only in a followers timeline but also in their @, reply or mention streams, depending on what platform they are accessing Twitter on. If you both follow each other then private D direct messages are allowed.
