In a few hours the Olympic flame, lit earlier in Greece, shall start its journey around the UK in the run up to the London 2012 Olympics. It will wend its way via thousands of runners through nearly all the major towns and cities of this country and will be passing throug the borough on the 23rd July carried by all these fine people -Torchbearers Bromley - 29 runners aged from 12 to 70 years old.

The Torch will be carried from Lewisham to Wandsworth on Monday July 23rd. After coming up Bromley Road from Lewisham, the torch will go through Bromley High Street and then using back streets arrive at Beckenham via Wickham Road. The procession then joins Beckenham High Street and follows on its way through Beckenham Road to Penge High Street. It will then parade through Crystal Palace Park and round the stadium, before heading out at the top of the hill and along Church Road into Croydon.
