Congratulations and best wishes on this historic day in Beckenham today as Harris Beckenham & Harris Bromley open their gates for the first time to new Year 7 and Sixth Form today. Plenty of parents campaigned hard for change and let's hope the new era in the town gives all pupils and parents a better and successful future.

Does anyone have any idea how the new harris is doing in Beckenham, and what the next co-ed intake is going to be like?

Well my daughter will be one of the first girls starting there in September. She has quite a few of her friends joining her too. From what I hear the school itself has been doing very well. We were definitely impressed when we attended their open evening last October.

Edenham is going to be one place I look at.  There are certain practical subjects that my son is interested that are not on offer at Harris beckenham. Ultimately its my sons happiness that will influence my decision.

Just haven't heard very much about the place since the 'takeover'! Thank you for your reply.

Hi Jola, glad you have been impressed with Harris Beckenham and have chosen to send your daughter there. My son is in year 7 this year and is doing well. I am part of the active Parents Forum and I have also just become the new Parent Governor at HABE. I will be at the new year 7 pupil/parents evening on the 2nd July, so come and say hi. The academy is making huge strides and can't wait to welcome it's first girls in September, I promise they will be well cared and catered for. thanks James
