Best place to get your haircut in and around Beckenham

For some getting their haircut is nearly a ritual and once a good barber, stylist or hairdresser is found the loyalty they show that place of hair is akin to a football club or family. Well the last thing you want to do is walk out scalped or with technicolour hair as bright as Joseph's dreamcoat.

So let's have the best Barbers and Stylists in Beckenham discussion. And do throw in any great stories either good or bad, we've all had them I'm sure.

My fave is The Crew Experience - Barbershop, Upper Elmers End Road, just down from Eden Park railway station. Hackan there has worked hard to make it a very personable place, with good cuts and reasonable prices. He re-invents the place every few years, and the latest look with Union Jack Flag light display installation ceiling is very Tate Modern, the TV screens and projector too are cool and my kids love the drinks and pool table which resides there in case the wait is a long one.

My family go to 'A Cut Above' in the high street. We have been going there for years and are always very happy. There are no fancy things like TV's or Pool tables but as its a hairdressers and not a barbers most people have appointments so I don't see that as a problem. Saturday is always very busy but you can usually sometimes walk in during the week and they will fit you in. On Thursdays you can book an evening slot if you want to get a trim after work etc.

My cut costs £12 and more importantly my wife approves unlike the time I went to Hacks ;)
